Prepare for study success. There are a wide range of resources to help with improving your study skills and preparedness available through Macquarie Business School (MGSM) and the wider university. Macquarie Business School (MGSM) runs specific workshops for the following learning skills areas:

Applied academic writing

Writing at the postgraduate level should be applied and academic demonstrating analytical, persuasive and critical thinking. Macquarie Business School (MGSM) runs a workshop at the beginning of term. Find out more

Online resources available. As a Macquarie University student, you can access the Macquarie University Excel for Business Coursera Specialisation (Essentials, Intermediate 1 and 2 and Advanced) for free. These online courses cover:

  • Excel basics
  • Functions and formatting
  • Useful Excel for reports
  • Introduction to advanced features

Learning advisors

Make an appointment with a Macquarie University learning advisor for guidance on:

Macquarie Business School (MGSM) iLearn is where you will spend a lot of your time as a student. It is the learning management system enabling you communicate and collaborate with peers and your lecturer and access materials and resources for all units you are enrolled in. iLearn is used for:

  • Communication - receive important unit announcements and class communications
  • Learning - engage in social and interactive learning activities, watch videos and download unit materials
  • Assessment - submit assignments through Turnitin and complete quizzes

You will be asked to log in using your OneID and password. (Please note, iLearn is not indicative of enrolment. Please check eStudent to confirm and manage unit enrolments.)
